WEEK 9 – Introduction to the Constructivist Perspective

A woman named Leslie who works for KQED came and spoke about using mobile devices for place-based learning. As an example, she showed a particular project in which students posted a video or photo on youtube

Week X

Situated Cognition
- Learning real life strategies and tools
- Learning from transfer of knowledge
- Practices of institutions and surroundings

I don't know to what extend does situated cognition stops being effective. Can it work on in crowded class room? Week IX

We watched videos about Vygotsky and Piaget. I noticed the impact that visuals and technology make in the classroom and couldn't help but to think that when I was in school I loved going out on field trips with our biology teacher. I remember learning by sensing and seeing, and having a more cognitive way of thinking/learning this way than reading a book or a test. Feedback ITEC 800 - Thursday October 29

In this class of this week we discussed situated cognition and communities of practice. In a small group we shared our different communities and it was interesting to learn more about the different communities from each other. I’m actively involved in several communities and noticed that the majority of my group is participating in communities. I really learned from hearing from the experiences from others. Good class!

It's been a busy couple of weeks, but somewhat to the neglect of 800. I've been going through the motions on my research, which was intended to align learning theories with advances in brain science, but two topics keep sidelining me, as they are ...

I agree with you, totally. I wasn't received the first education in U.S. so I don't know how the education field has been improved or changed here. But I can tell that the educational field in Korea moves slowly. And I assume that America is in th...
